Yoke House is sutuated on the recognisable arm of North Wales pointing towards Ireland. The Llyn has retained most of the Welshness of Wales; strong in traditions and history. The hills are rich in prehistoric remains with holy wells and a pilgrimage route to Bardsey Island, the bural ground of 20,000 saints. Even today, no main road penetrates to the tip of the peninsula, only the narrow winding lanes surrounded with hedgrows with abundance of wild flowers and foilage. Guarded by Caernarfon castle to the north and Harlech to the south, the area is now designated as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Peninsulsa enjoys a long coastline which offers ideal sailing conditions and superb family beaches from Pontllyfni in the north to Nefyn, Aberdaron, Abersoch, Pwllheli and on to Black Rock sands, (once used for motor racing), in the south.
Between both coastlines lie mountains offering walking opportunities and splendid views as they plunge down to the sea allowing occasional coastal villages to nestle in coves. On a clear day, look across Caernarfon bay, to Anglesey or Ireland and to the south, Cardigan Bay, training ground for prospective Olympic sailors based at Pwllheli.
